Many artifacts have been discovered at the Oseberg dig site in Norway.
In particular these high shoes or ankle boots called "172", according to the work of Margareth Hald, on the same excavation site as the Oseberg "303" shoes but higher and without snail clasps.
Defined by "Oseberg Boots", they are often reconstructed at an exaggerated size much higher than the original version kept in the museum.
The Oseberg excavation site appears to be an important burial site on an impressive boat. One of the most complete testimonies to Norway's Viking past. Many artifacts have been discovered there.
